We are fundraising to provide mentruation cups and pads to girls in impoverished communities to reduce school absences.
From the moment girls first find blood in theri underwear, society tells them that their periods are a problem, a taboo. Many girls and women in impoverished communities cannot afford menstrual pads or cups and use old clothes during their period. During this time, these girls are not able to go to school, losing many days of valuable education. In some of these ommunities, It's believed that it's a taboo to have your period and the women and girls who have their period are driven out of their villages into the jungle. Many have died from infection from the old clothes or from snake bites while in the jungles.
Our mission is to provide menstrual pads and cups to girls and provide education on proper hygiene and break the taboo of menstruation.
